Kuala Lumpur, 20 November 2025 – Digital operations software provider Caction and Microsoft Malaysia came together to host an event titled, “From Operations to Intelligence – Transforming Service Companies with Everyday Data.” Held at Microsoft Malaysia office, the event gathered a vibrant mix of industry leaders—from facility management and healthcare providers to telecommunication services and retail operations.

In his opening remarks, Caction CEO John Lee said that, ‘Service companies have always worked hard with manual, memory-driven processes. But we’ve reached a turning point. The very companies that power the cities we live in can now use technology and everyday operational data to gain the insights they need to make faster and clearer decisions.”

Caction is a full-fledged digital operations platform that encompasses job scheduling, real-time field updates, digital workflows, productivity tracking, preventive maintenance planning, asset registry management, customer issue tracking, and field staff management—helping multi-site companies streamline and organise their operations.

Additionally, when speaking about the challenge of keeping operations aligned, John referenced the growth paradox. With just two people, information flows in only two directions. But with four people, it expands to 24 possible communication paths. Now imagine a service company where dozens or hundreds of employees are scattered across different sites, cities, or even states—rarely in the same office.

This complexity creates communication gaps, blind spots, and missed signals. High-performing employees may go unnoticed, customers become unhappy, and margins start to erode. Over time, these inefficiencies don’t just slow the business—they shape the culture. Teams begin to accept confusion and firefighting as “normal,” even when better ways of working are possible.

How can businesses strike the right balance between profitability, customer satisfaction, and employee wellbeing? With the right technology and systems, it becomes possible. By digitising operations and simplifying everyday work, companies can create a foundation where all three can grow together instead of competing with one another – resulting in a triple win scenario. For example, paper documents can be replaced with digital forms that streamline record-keeping and capture real-time data more efficiently.

‘’We hope that this event will encourage service companies to build operations that are not only efficient and profitable but also more intelligent. You do not need to spend millions but just start with digitising your operations with simple steps,’’ he added.

One of the standout moments of the event was the customer spotlight session delivered by Irwin Oh, Director of Business Strategy at HT Consulting. Irwin has successfully implemented Caction’s operations management software in Hong Kong-based company Rototype International where he is the CEO and shared how everyday data transformed not only operations but employee culture as well. ‘’We recorded a 20% productivity increase among our junior team members, and our machine network availability reached 98.9% uptime.’’

He also explained that by digitising operations, Caction enabled his company to capture accurate data and turn it into meaningful insights that directly improved performance. For example, through everyday operational data, they were able to identify a high-performing technician who previously went unnoticed. Once recognised and rewarded, this technician felt valued and naturally stepped up as a peer leader—guiding others, sharing best practices, and elevating the entire team’s performance.

In addition, as a Registered Microsoft Partner, Caction delivers powerful Microsoft tools—including Power BI and Fabric—to help customers unify their data, generate deeper insights, and make smarter, faster operational decisions. Thanks to Microsoft’s support, Caction is able to host impactful industry events that bring leaders together to learn, collaborate, and explore the future of intelligent operations.
